SCORE!
Posted by scorpr2 on Sunday, June 8, 2008 10:43 PM

My wife and I went to Hobby Lobby Friday night to get a new template for me.  And of course I had to check the models to see if anything new was in.  Nothing new, so as usual I check the clearence!  JACKPOT!!!  They had some of their clearence stuff marked down to as little as .99 cents!!!  When my wife caught up with me it took her 2 seconds to give me the ok.  After I put some kits in the buggy, she said "Is that all?"  Bless her heart!  So after she twisted my arm to pick up a few more I walked out of there with 21 kits!  Oh yeah, plus the template.  I spent a total of $55.00!!!!  I figured up my savings today, it's $472.79 not counting taxes!  I don't spend that much in a year on kits!  I still can't believe it.  So, if you have a Hobby Lobby near you, RUN don't walk and check it out!!!!

Great score Doog. You should post a list of the kits you picked up.

I was in my local Hobby Lobby last week and picked up a 1/35th ACADEMY UH-60 kit for $14.00 on clearance (I've actually picked up three on clearance over the last year).

The M1046 HMMWV that I posted in the armor section was a HL clearance kit as well. I paid $9.00 for it.

My Thrift Store Score.

Awhile back, I saw on here that someong picked up a B-29 at a thrift store for good & cheap, unopened and all. Ever since then, I look for things of our hobby when we go to the "Treasure Store" I Stoppened in a local one yesterday, I need a knick-knack/spice rack for the ever growing paints collection....this was a quick stop...go in, look in that area of the store, & out. Then I thought, "Hey, lets go quick to the toy section and take a quick peak." (It's a small section, you can scan through it in under a minute.)  Low and behold, I now have a Thrift Store Score! (no, there were no AM parts that came with it. but I don't care.)

Can't tell from the pic, but they were $.99 apiece!!! all

are 1/48....if anyone has advise/eexperience wit these kits....please share.

I have yet to find a good deaql at Hobby Lobby. **shrugs** Oh well, one day.

Sorry Dirk, but there's nothing in Jersey, Pa., Md., or Deleware. They're all around us so maybe one day.

That is totally SWEET!!!! You got a great deal. I feel awesome after getting a great deal on models or modeling supplies. Like the time I went to my library and they were selling PERFECT condition modelling magazines and reference books for armor for only 10 cents each!
