Has anyone ever bought from them?
I did today for the first time... I placed my order at 2:50 PM Central, and at 3:02 PM I had an email stating my kit was IN THE MAIL!!

I recommend them if you're looking for someone to buy from.

I have also had EXCELLENT experiences with them.  Lightning-fast shipping, everything arrives safely and the parts I order are the parts I receive. Thumbs Up [tup]

Without a doubt you will find that they are the best. The quantities you see are real time, they update as soon as someone purchases an item, not once every 24 hours or longer like some. Orders are processed and shipped same day. Usually you'll get your shipping notice within a hour after placing the order (when placed during business hours) and the shipment departs during the daily pick up by the carrier they selected.

For out of stock items, their notify me when it arrives feature is also excellent! You get an email as soon as the restock has been entered into their system.

I rate them as number one!

The prices seem pretty comprable to me. Between the 3 sites I have used ( Greatmodels, Sprue Bros., and Meghobby) Sprue Brothers seem to be in the middle of the road pretty consistently. Greatmodels is cheaper and Mega is more expensive. The only down side I see with them is that he only carries aircraft and armor, with some sci-fi and naval stuff. If I want or need a car, I'm heading somewhere else. For planes though, I'm stuck on Sprue Brothers.

Sprue Bros is my first choice. Best service (usually same day shipment), competitive pricing, excellant website, easy on-line ordering, very good selection. If Gordon shows it in stock, it's in stock. Squadron is good, but their Search Engine is horrible and you really don't know what's in stock. You have to call them to find out.

I agree with bilbirk regarding Great Models....... you don't even want to start me on them, they are my very last resort.

a easy way to tell if Squadron has a item in stock is if there is a shopping cart with the item it is in stock. this will save you a phone call.

I too enjoy Sprue Bros. level of service. My only complaint with them was that when using dial-up, the search functions on their website were basically unuseable. Now that DSL has entered my life, though, that problem has gone away.

I have just recently discovered Sprue Brothers and my first experience was good. Reasonable price and quick service. Here in Tuscaloosa, Al. it is a hobbyshop wilderness so there are only two choices. Travel to Birmingham or order online. Being also new to the computer world I have a bit of a phobia for online purchases but am slowly overcoming them. May I also give a shoutout to Alan Bussie of oldmodels.com for their assistance with aquiring some of the kits of my youth. With sources like Sprue and Old Models, I feel much better about the decision to return to this wonderful pasttime.
