Im obviously new to this modeling but i need help answering some questions like what is needed? (i already know about paint and bending tools are needed) Another question i had is that do this models come as stencils and i must make the photo etched parts myself or it comes with all the parts i need and all i must do is cut out, fold, cement, and assemble? Also what would be a good brand/model is good for beginers?

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the boads, bihira.  You'll find that for every question you have, you'll have dozens of people who can answer it.

What kind of modeling are you interested in; planes, armor, ships, autos?  I build planes and I can tell you that most kits don't include PE.  Only two I can think of that do are Trumpeter and Eduards.  For ease of construction, I'd go with Tamiya and Hasegawa.

For other genres of kits, I'll let the repective experts chime in.

For PE, you'll need tweezers, a good set of nippers to get it off the sprue, and some crazy glue and accelerator.  For the model itself, I'd stay away from the old tube glue (testors in blue and orange) and go with one of the liquid cements.  My favorites are Tamiya and pro-weld.

Once we get a little more info, I'm sure we'll be able to answer all of your questions.

sorry i guess i should of been more specific in my questions but you did answer some of my questions thx

well some models i want to try would be armors (which i think is military tanks and vehicles) and ships.

thanks for the reply but i have a question about what an accelerator is and was wondering i really want to learn more about PE but what would be a cheap effective bending block because i saw the etchmate and it was just too expensive to buy(even though it looks kick *** XD).

So could you be more specific on what brand would be good for PE modeler beginers

Long before Etch Mate and Holf & Folds, we used small 6" steel rulers (run about $4 at a hardware store or Sears) and a single edged razor blade (some folks dulled the cutting edge so they didn't cut themselves). Use a small piece of milled metal (like a small chunk of aluminum stock) or a smooth piece of ceramic tile as your work surface.

You asked what is a good brand for beginer armor kits. I have an answer for that, Tamiya either the 1/48 or 1/35 scale. Tamiya's 1/48 scale is somewhat easier then the 1/35 scale. Mainly because their's less parts, and their is no suspenison to articulate. But 1/35 kits aren't that much harder, it's completley your choice. Dragon kits are great but I wouldn't recomend them to a beginer because of their high parts count and PE (photoetch).

Hope this helps.Smile [:)]

By the way, in the armor section someone asked what are good armor kits for beginers, lot of specifics in that thread. Here's a link: /forums/978324/ShowPost.aspx
