I have just finished assembly and painting of the Revell Germany 1/48 SH-3H Sea King--just about to start decals after the Christmas rush. The kit is very detailed with the exception (as noted above) of the rear interior compartment. Both the cargo and crew doors are molded closed. The crew door has a set of rudimentary steps, but the steps are included only because they can be seen from the cockpit access. The cockpit is great! (Best one I've seen!) Decal options are adequate--both for hi- (1980's era) and lo-viz (1991 Desert Storm) markings; I do not yet know the QUALITY of the decals. The assembly, painting, and decal placement instructions leave A LOT TO BE DESIRED!!! They tend to be vauge or difficult to understand exact placement locations. The color reference guide is in German--so you have to interpret/guess for the American FS colors and the proper scheme application. I bought Squadron/Signal's H-3 Sea King in Action and that has been of great help! Revell gives you the option of either an open or closed/stowed rotor system assembly, BUT you can order the three or four extra parts from Revell Germany [for FREE!--go to http://www.revell.de] so that you can have both options available for display. Additionally, the rotors have BUILT-IN droop for added realism!!
All that to say, it is a great kit, and with some resources you can make it excellent! I plan on buying and building another one very soon!
