Spent a week in Eagle, CO at HAATS.  This was my favorite landing site of the week.

This is chimney at about 11.5

Just another view of the same site

Just a thought--it would be good if you explained what this means, and what you "did" here--some of us honestly have no clue what we're looking at?

That is awesome. Things like this make me regret not joining. Stupid guitars sucked me in!!!

Yesterday, I was at my airport running the big tractor with the snowblower on it when a Chinook from the Guard came in and completely disapeared in the snow being blown up from his wash. I got on the radio, and as a joke asked him to blow off the runway. He actually did it.....what a helluva guy!!!

I agree with Fermis, that is Awesome!

I spent my flying years in fixed wing birds and always held our "helo" brethren in very high regard.  Flying the thing is a lot like playing the drums;  each of your hands and feet are actively involved in the process and each must work in concert with the other.  The safe operating margins offer much more "pucker factor" than I faced in fixed wings and finally, one word gives these guys the "largest nads on the flight-line" award: Autorotation.

Nice shots. Thanks for sharing. For those interested in HAATS, check here:

Unfortunately, the "photo" link is not working, but click the "poster" link for another nice shot of a Blackhawk on the pinnacle.

Just a quick explaination for anyone who is not familiar.  A pinacle landing is where there is not room to place all wheels/skids on the landing site.  In this case we had the main wheels on the ground with the tail hanging out over the edge.
