My third USMC helo was a kit bash of the Italeri MH-53E and an old Fujimi CH-53D kit.
The MH kit is for the Navy mine towing version with massive sponsons and a different rear cargo hatch etc. I know that there's an Italeri version of the USMC Super Stallion, but I couldn't track one down. The sponsons and fuel tanks from the delta aren't exactly right for the echo either, but I gave it a best compromise attempt.
Even in 1/72nd, this is a large kit. I again had to scratch build various antenna and airframe pieces like the IR mount extending off the port nose. The decals were all from the spares box, so again, I know the MAG codes, etc., aren't correct.
Like the other two models, various vent grills that weren't molded in are parts from a left over 1/700th aircraft carrier PM fret.
Again, I hope I didn't offend any USMC aircrew with the compromises required to complete the model.
Is 1/72nd scale a fading scale?
