This is my view of my Huey I wanted to build . After all the pictures , No Huey was clean . They  were the work horse during vietnam war .

I feel very happy with the end results .

Gotta agree with Pjunkie, that's one sharp chopper! The custom metal skids are really well done.  Nice job too on the ammo chutes.  

Thanks Frog. I agree with TADave, your quads should be darker. M60's are parked and the tone can range from a almost black grey to a greenish grey but that's an easy fix.

I painted the belts flat black and gave them a steel dry brush to pop the details.

Your Huey is coming along nicely.  Just a small suggestion on your flex guns.  They are derived from the M60 machine gun used by infantry troops.  They are actually a dark metallic, almost black in reality.  Everything looks great; your neighbor will be thrilled!!

I used a squirrel cage unit i got from Grainger ducted outside. Give me a couple days I will post some pics of my setup.

Ok , I added some decals last night .Not all of them .Today did  some weathering .

 i can't wait to give him this bird .

Top , side and gun  I used blackwith little rust

The bottom I used brown mud

i guess i need to finish the ammo and door glass . then flat clear coat

You have it correct; main rotor tips were yellow.   They could also be black with a white section, about 1/3 of the top.  The bottom (underside) was usually od green.   The tail rotor tips were either red, white, red stripes; or yellow tipped.  Additionally, the tail rotor could be od green or black overall.
