Thank you for the kind words everyone.
Mike,
The fit was pretty good though the canopy took some coaxing. Do you intend to do it open or closed? It's designed for open and seemed to dry fit well that way. My biggest struggle was tracking down the tiny clear parts that I launched into the carpet; I seriously lost several hours, put down a dark sheet or something. The clear seeker heads for the hellfires are particularly bad.
One thing I did have an issue with was the temperature probe-the part is in the kit, but it's completely left off the instructions (though pictured in the painting diagram of one side view but not the other). It goes in front of the rotor mast on top of the starboard (right side) air intake.
If you are worried about it, there is a hole on the underside in one of the wheel wells that opens into the bottom of the cockpit. If you are inclined, it shouldn't be too hard to cover up with some sheet styrene. I ignored it as I intended to secure it to a base from the get go and it can only be seen from underneath.
Like most Hasegawa kits though, it fits wonderfully. I used super glue vice putty and didn't have to use a whole lot. If you use either super glue or the squadron putty/acetone trick it should go pretty quick.
