Taking the pics outside in natural light is best.  Next best is with a couple desk lamps on it and a neutral background.  I like to use a light blue poster board as a background.

From what I can see it looks good, but the light from that window is making the pics dark. Maybe retake them from another angle where the window isnt visible.

We are our own worst critics. Believe me, I can point out every flaw on my models.

Nope, the tail weighs nothing on this one.  It will sit flat on the skids right out if the box.

Ok, I found my helicopter on the porch this morning. Now, one more question. Do I need to add weight to the front so it will not  be a tail sitter?

Thanks

I have the same kit. I'll be interested to see how it turns out.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Hi Everyone,

I have canceled the Revell kit, and won an MRC/Academy kit on EBay.

The cockpit is not correct on the Revell kit either. To do a correct MASH bird you need the MRC kit.

MASH lied!!   Indifferent

I don't know about the MASH movie, but the chopper in the beginning of the TV series is correct

Thanks everyone for the input. I guess I can build the right skids for it, but I don't know how to change the fuel tanks.

I combined Revell's with the skids from the MRC bird to do this one

I built one about 2 years ago. http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/16/t/149420.aspx It builds up pretty straightforward. I don't recall and problems other than a ambiguous spot for gluing some item on the lower tail fin.

It goes together well, w/o any issues.  The only problem is that the version represented by the kit is a Vietnam-era OH-13H, not a Korean War-era H-13D.  The OH-13H was not used as a MedEvac with the litter racks on the sides.  They were either used as scouts or a few were fitted w/guns and rockest as some of the first gunships.

The major difference is in the skid support legs and fuel tank(s).  The H-13D used in the Korean War had squared off skid support legs and a large, central fuel tank.  The OH-13H had the rounded skid support legs and two, saddle bag fuel tanks.

H-13D

OH-13H

So it depends on how historically accurate you want to be.  If you want an accurace H-13D MedEvac, MRC/Academy makes one that is very nice.

I have Revell's Bell H-13 1/35 on order. Are there any pics of builds here. I'm just curious to see what others did with it. I'm starting to get interested in the Korean War.

Are there any problems with it as well?

Thanks
