THis is another flight test bird, with sensor boom. Orange box on the tailboom is the location of the GPS.

These are all the pics I could find. I'll try to talk to my piezo over at 1/160th to do a proper walkaround for us.

Chief Snake, any plans for another MELB update? I've got two sitting here begging for new rotors and tail surfaces now!

Let's not forget the new cockpit and GAU19!

Same here Scott, thanks for sharing!

Excellent timing as my copy of International Air Power Review profiling the SOAR arrived today too! Those are a full on MELB standard, A/MH-6M - six blade main/four-blade tail rotor, increased tail surfaces, stronger skids, the more powerful 250-C30-R3M engine and the enhanced cockpit with VOR and ILS capability. Conversion of Js to this standard should be complete this year if it hasn't happened already (started around 2002)

Also found it interesting to see where the 160th still flies V-Tail H-6s. Designated MH-6C, it's basically an OH-6A but with a 250-C30 MH-6J engine and a black paint job. Still has the four blade main rotor, but no plank (Jon - this version is what I was referring to saturday regarding your conversion)

Dang it all!! Those photos make me want to get a 19-shot pod and a .50 cal for my AH-6 build now!
Great photos, though, scott, thank you very much.

Grant,

Lookin good! I'm particularly intrigued by the AH-6J OIF shot. That bird isn't carrying a minigun or rockets outboard on his left wing. Looks like a .50 cal. I've got an article in Veritas magazine that talks about LBs using .50 cals like the KWs have, but never seen any pics of it. Anyone know what the installation looks like up close?

I'm putting together a composition of pix I've found online from various sources and it can be viewed here: http://homepage.mac.com/grant_little/PhotoAlbum14.html

There are more MH-6 than AH-6 shots, but that's not a total loss as they're the same things (one just carries rockets and miniguns instead of riding planks!)

It's a work in progress and I come across more pix, they'll go up there as well
