excellent thanks. Just out of interest, are model paints generally identical to the original colour, or is the shade adjusted? I think it has to be lightened slightly the smaller the scale is. Just wondering about that anyway. Thanks

If you need to mix try 2 parts OD to 1 part flat black, matched it to the original color back in the mid 70's

Agree with the others. The Testor's paint is the way to go. It is spot on.

I am not familiar with the Poly Scale but I know that the Testors paint is almost ideal. I compared it with one that had just returned from the paint shop and it was just a little bit lighter than the real thing, just right for modeling. Testors Helo drab is also easy to fade, just a little bit of gray gets the look of ten years of service spot on.

My LHS recommended Polly Scale RLM70 Black Green and I have to admit that it looks right. It's acrylic.

Testors ModelMaster line of paint has Helo Drab in its line-up. You can get it in acrylic, too. Now, I don't know if that paint is available where you live, but that would be my preferred route instead of trying to mix-n-match with Tamiya (don't get me wrong, I use a ton of Tamiya's acrylics, I got hooked on them while living overseas).
