Repeatable rivet creation on 1:24 scale Huey - How??

Don't know if it will work for 1/24 scale, but I have heard about getting the Britta water filters and opening them up. They contain a bunch of conical, half spherical beads that are perfect for rivets. All you do is glue them on. One filter yields hundreds of rivets.

I like that glue idea. the thought of being able to erase any accidental rivets immediately seems like a good idea!

Really helpful generally though all who contributed. I will check this post on and off for a while so if anyone has anymore bright ideas please don't hesitate to add something.

Here is one more method , using Elmer’s white glue. Once you have your model finished and ready for paint, pour some glue down on a piece of cardboard and using a tooth pick up some glue and place it where the rivet should be. Once dry you’ll have a hard raised rivet. Work great, did this way many times myself and it’s faster. Best part is, if you mess up it takes no time in fixing it right. I suggest that you try it on a scrap piece of plastic first so you get the feel, understanding and how much is needed.

#1 If you have enough pations take a 0.3 mm sterene rod from Evergreen and cut as many pieces (1mm) as you need and then glew them on the hull If there are not too many of them to be recreated - it won't be so annoing.

#2 Use alluminium foil. Cut out exact shape and size of the panel where rivets are missing. Then turn it upside down, put it on pack of news papers and make resessed rivets with the needle. Dont press to hard not to penetrate the foil. Turn it back and glew the foil on hull. This method is really hard - I myself tryed it only on small panels - but it works awesome! Just need some practice.

There is no easy method, but expect to spend a lot of time making the rivets, may want to check out railroad detail parts
