Hi Gertjan,

Thank you for your kind words.

I love the EC-135  kit.  The interior was just fine.  Based upon my experiance with the kit, when you assemble the medical interior, It's good to use some masking tape to help hold things in place.  The glue I use (Ross Sniff-Proof)  will grab well within a few minutes.   As for for assembling inside the body, I always will mount the interior to one half of the body first, let it  cure, then bond the body halfs together.  It's worked well for me.   I have two more EC kits waiting for me when I finally get these things done.  1/72 is too small for me.  The smallest would have to be 1/48.

The only problem I've run into with the kit is the rotor head.  Take your time on that.  The blade tabs fit too snug.  So you will need to do some trimming or sanding on the sides and very little on the holes.  Don't force anything.

As for the molds, I use RTV (Room Temperature Vaulcanized Rubber.).  I've made reinforced Latex skined molds in the past with a Gypsum plaster base.  That works o.k. too.  But if you can afford the RTV, that's the best way to go.  Latex is cheap however, some people are very alergic to Latex.

There are some other guys here with waaaay more experiance than I do when it comes to techniques and other neat stuff.  I've been away too long and am trying to get caught up on the latest and greatest.

It's always good to hear from you!
Cheers,
John.

Ah thanks John: that's better. Guess the problems are on my side.

Great pics again, thank you for sharing!  Great to see you do your own moulds and decals!!! What material do you use for the moulds?

How is the fit of the EMS cabin inside the EC135? I have never been able to fit the ems interior in the 1:72 EC135, it seems there is just not enough space inside to get the cage-like structure in.

Thanks again, Gertjan

Gertjan,

Huh?!?!?  Wierd.   I can see it fine evan at home on AOL.  A browser issue perhaps.
Here is my project photo album.  Hopefulley this will cure the problem.
The newer pics (3 of them) are at the bottom and the EC-135 medical interiror patch is on the upper-middle right.  I gut the cases off and patched it for making a set of free setting bags and cases.

1/32 BK117s & EC-135 project.

Anyone else having any problems?

Also, I finally got the Vacuum Former this weekend!  Woo-hoo!!!
Someone already wants to order a set of external oxygon tanks and BK radar noze from me.  I'll let ya know how things go.   I'm looking at doing a Nightsun searchlight also.

Let me know how the link works out.
John

Hello John,

Not that I'm not interested, but I can't get your pics: the dreaded red X rears its ugley head again!

Could you post the pics again or am I the only one with this issue?

Thanks, cheers!

Hey Fellas,

Over the holiday break, I managed to find some free time and get some assembly work and fabing complete.  Those of you familiar w/ the 1/32 ADAC EC-135, the vertical stablizers and lower tail fin were incorrect.  Well, Santa got me a 1/32 EC-135 Polizie (Nice kit) which had the correct tail fin.  So I fabricated a duplicate out of 10lb. density balsa core.  I then sealed it w/ Superglue (Thanks Gino!) and patched over it w/ Squdron putty to fill any fine imperfections and sanded to finish.  (The bondo affect) It was bonded in place w/ fast curing epoxy.  (Thanks again Gino!)  I did notice that the V-stablizers I made previously were not exactly correct as I had thought and winged from the existing parts.  I know what not to do next time.

Here I have everything assembled up prior to adding the external oxygon tanks and radar noze pieces I've been mentioning.  I didn't get my vacuum-former yet as hoped but am scheduled this weekend to pick it up.  So from the balsa masters I made, I'll be vac-forming those parts finally.

Next will be to fab the WSPS' out of sheet styrene.

Cheers,
John
