Are you going to send the bids to 50$ on these, too?! Wink [;)]

That stock of Viet-Nam era helos sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing, Gino.

I wonder if, now that we have the 35th scale Chinook, whether any of the major manufactures (DML et al) or aftermarket-type folks (CMK, Warriors, et al) will be releasing any new Vietnam chopper crew figures...

Would be great to see Dragon/DML release some new figures with their new "Generation 2" molding technology and detail...

Aloha,

Johnny B.

I agree, it would be great, but I won't hold my breath for Dragon.  They are too focused on WWII stuff to worry about releasing more Vietnam/modern figures.  Especially a helo crew which they already have a set for.  I'll keep my fingers crossed, but don't really expect to see anything.

I have the DML Helo crew set with the factory seal still on it. I also have the 1/35 Italieri Blackhawk kit no. 6430 (It's been opened, but no parts have been touched). I've recently shifted the focus of my modeling to 1/72 US Navy and USMC aircraft exclusively, therefore these kits will probably just sit around and collect dust for a LONG time. I've also noticed there's a lot of demand for the Crew set ...

So.....I will send those two kits above, 100% free of charge, to the first member of the US Armed Forces that sends me a PM.

I'd rather see them put to good use rather than sit on a shelf and collect dust. I'd also like to show my appreciation to our troops for all they do for our country. And, I'd rather see them go to a serious hobbyist i.e., one who would be reading this forum.

That was quick! We have a winner!

Ditto to that. Thanks for your kind words. To just say "Hey, thanks"... speaks volumes to those of us who put on the uniform.

Thanks Frank, from another man in uniform.  Glad to see we are appreciated.  Good luck to whoever got it.

Its my pleasure! It's also the least I could do. It takes a lot of guts to leave home, go through basic training/OCS, complete it, and then put your life on the line for the good of our country. I have the utmost respect for that, my only regret is that health problems kept me out of the service. I take consolation for that in trying to learn as much as I can about the military and its history.

On a lighter note, I've found a kit purchasing "loophole". As I'm sure you guys know, I get the "look" from the wife with every purchase of new kits. Now, since I'll be donating the kits I'll probably never get to, I'll be replacing them on the shelves with new kits (1/72 planes).

The wife will never see a difference in the number of kits on the shelves.

I'll get to buy new kits unpunished.

Our service members will have some kits to build. (I've got about 200 car kits that would take me the better part of a century and a half to build...they gotta go! If you know any service members that are into cars, let me know...)

It's the perfect crime! lol

Frank, have you thought about sending your kits to the military model clubs in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Kosovo?  The troops would love them there.  Check out the first few posts in the Charity and Goodwill Forum for more info.

Thanks again for your support.
