Andy,

Roger, Pipe #1 (actually a braided stainless steel line) would plug into "hole" # 1.  I've gone through all my Huey references and no luck on a good shot of a UH-1B or C left side of the engine other than what you posted.  I could really kick my "butt" for not taking some shots of the B's we had in the late 70's for a short while when I was in the Army Reserves.  I had saved all the manuals on B/C/M's in a locker and my coworkers went on a cleaning spree when I was on vaction one time and threw them away.  I still get pissed thinking about it.

Mel,

thanks for info! And I would really appriciate any other photo you send me! as I said before - your pics and explanations are the primary reference source for me.

PS

so PIPE 1 goes into Hole 1 or right beside it?

Andy,

Pipe #1 is the main engine "bleed" air supply to power the oil cooler fan.  It is mounted below the engine deck where Hole #1 fitting is located.  I don't remember if the UH-1C's had a bleed air powered fuel pump or not.  Pipe #2 is the main incoming fuel supply hose to the fuel filter housing and it is attached to a fitting in the floor behind the fuel filter.  The red "nob" is the break away crash worthy 90 degree fitting for the fuel supply hose that goes to the fuel control on the side of the engine which is not there.  I have a few more pictures I can scan later and send to you that will position Hole #1 fitting at the engine deck better.  A couple are of a UH-1H fuel fiter housing and where the hose attaches to the engine to give you a better idea.

Got another rookie question))))))

Here are couple of pics for easier understanding of what I am talking about.

There is a big pipe (I called it PIPE 1) coming out from top of rear half of engine and goes ether into "HOLE 1" from the second pic, or into deck or somewhere else...

Can somebody give aproximate directions on where this thing goes? BTW is it a fuel pipe?

Second question is about "PIPE 2"

I can see where it begins but have no idea where it goes... Any hints? Looks like on the pic it is disconnected.... or it goes into the deck

the last question  -  marked with "?"   It is obvious that there soppose to be another pipe there.... Where this one goes?

Oh......those pipes drive me crazy....Angry [:(!]

Thanks for help!

Andy sent me a few pictures of his progress so far.  He is doing a good job.  I'm afraid my pictures will just "complicate" his project!  Heh, heh!  One reason I've never finished mine!  I'm way too "close" to the subject!  Maybe Andy's build will get me off my "duff" and finish one of the two Sharks I've started.  A couple shots of one of the cockpits, stock except for the map case, and the transmission and rotor assy.

Chief Snake is "right on the money"!   Do you have my pictures that were posted some months ago?  I have a new scanner and can E-mail some I took of an old "Mike" model which would be the same for the "Charlie".  This one as well as a lot of "Charlie" models have an "extended" collective lever which had the pivot point attached to a bracket and "link" on the fwd right edge of the transmission about 1:30 clock position.

That is the accessory drive for the standby generator. Not there on B/C models. The illustration you have is for D/H models.

Question to Mel and other Uh-1C specialists :)

Returned back yesterday to my Huey C transmission compartment detailing.....and faced a little delema. According to Manual there is a "thing" (I marked it with red) on the front of the transmission module... but on photos of real helo I couldn't  find anything that looks like it.

Question is - what is it? Should it be there on "C"?

Thanks a lot!
