Ok, back with the HSL again, I mocked up the rotors this afternoon and got a shot of it. This is a 14" cutting mat, so you can see the overall size. Actually bigger than I expected it to be, and thats not a bad thing at all!

Rotor droop is cast in, probable warpage in box too so Ill correct that. The fuselage is held together with 7 cut down straight pins brinigng the halves into close alignment.  The landing gear is cleaned up but now I have to figure out HOW it all goes together! Any good shots of this  in anyones stash?

Hi Everyone

An update on the Anigrand kit, if you are unfamiliar with resin low production kits, this one is about typical. I found a few easy to fill pinholes here and there, and some areas needed some cleanup along parting lines, such as the forward engine "trunk" where the forward firewall is, that neds some more cleanup. Other than the landing gear and engine, cleanup of mold parting lines went smoothly.  The egine has a big nasty ring halfway around the circumference that has to be hacked and ground away and this was by far the nastiest bit of cleanup. Perhaps ten minutes with my dremel and a small drill bit, Zona razor saw and sanding boards.

I am pinning the fues halves together to get as close to alignment as I can. Using cut down straigh pins installed in one half, I determine where the other half needs to be to bring it into proper alignment.

if anyone has photos of the interior arrangment, I would love some assist with that, the way Anigrand has it layed out is with the sonar operators seats down the centerline.  Does this sound or look correct to anyone?

Ill get some pics this weekend.

David

Hi Mac

There are a lot of really honest reviews  on the web (Modeling Madness is one site ) and in general the Anigrand kits stand well. I have finished thier freaky, scarey, "you've got to be nuts to fly this thing" Curtis flying platform. Overall the kit was not bad, but I replaced the molded tubular struts on that machine with plastic rodstock (same as what they masterd the resin in).

Its good quality resin, minor details will realy help dress this one out. No major bubbling, etc but sometimes you can find minor warpage from shipping. Decals are plain but seem OK.

here is a pic of my Curtis flying platform from Anigrand:

I am interested in how it builds up.  There are several Anigrand kits that are on my watch list but I am waiting to see if they are worth the $.

Hi Everone

Just wanted to share a photo of the nice Anigrand HSL 41 in 1/72 scale. Anigrand tackles the subjects no one else will touch and this is a great one. I havent taken it out of the bag yet, but you can see it has quite a few parts and is well cast. I see a couple of pinholes but nothing Mr. Surfacer cant handle. I think ll replace the landing gear struts with wire/tubing stock.

Nice little kit!
