Sorry to hear this... As a person who also has a couple online businesses (non model), I can relate to how difficult and frustrating it can be. People often wonder why so many companies have gone to the 'limited edition' style of sales in the model business... That's why... It's often times the only way to motivate people to buy stuff. I personally get requests to do new products in my businesses every week. I quickly learned not to get suckered, after the first few times I made the silly mistake of assuming the people would actually buy the stuff. Once they were available, 99% of the people that said they wanted them disappeared into the woodwork and didn't even bother to reply to an email. Then you get the people who email you 20 times with all these questions, and usually don't buy it in the end. Or the few that do end up returning it for some silly reason. Or how about the self proclaimed "review" sites that are often just people who see flaws and errors in everything, and have nothing better to do than talk trash about somebody else's hard work. I feel for anybody that's made the effort and had to take all the BS that goes along with it.

Man, its too bad about this. I can understand where your coming from.  I've been there with some of the places I've worked.  I've got your -47 wheel set and its great. And I just got a friend turned on to your stuff right before you closed down.  Not sure if he even got his order in before you closed the ordering.  He had a sizable order.  Hope you can resume production soon. There's a coupld sets I was interested in getting down the line.

Sad to hear the finality of the business you've worked hard to build up Chief. Best wishes to you & hope you are able to see your way clear of the financials soon.

It's not my place to critique how people spend their money, but they certainly have no room whatever to complain about how I must manage Cobra Company. I don't know who said it but it's one of my favorites-

Andy, I do need to recognize you as a steady supporter of Cobra Company. No one needs to spend all their dollars in one place and they certainly shouldn't be expected to. There are names I've seen at intervals over the years, steady clients whom I appreciate and try my best to keep interested in what comes out. You are one of those. And I admire your work and ideas and I take them to heart when formulating steps I take in creating new sets.

Chief,

If other forums are any indication, I know some of us placed some quite sizeable orders in an effort to help. Finding out about the problems at CC less than 72 hours before cancelling orders didn't give us much time, though.

But I also understand your frustration. I think that for every dedicated modeler on forums like this who actually buys cottage industry products, there are probably 10 others who talk big but don't back it up with $$.

Chief,

I agree with you, I'm one of those who should have orderd.  Bought a bunch of stuff from you at a show in Fairfax, Va. about 7 years ago.  Always hoped you would produce items like door guns and mounts for all scales and would sell the toilet bowl exhaust seperately. I apologize for my part of your demise and wish you the best.

"Can't Talk...Gotta Shoot" was the reply given by Captain Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson to the radio call from 357th Fighter Group leader "tommy Hayes, on July 7,1944, as Anderson lines up behind a trio of ME-109's flying in formation. OLD CROW gets good strikes all over the target bringing Anderson's total claim to 12 1/4 in the air.

Hey I have that AFV Club AH-1W super cobra kit on the shelf.  I'm not ready to build it but I was supposed to buy the NTS upgrade kit someday to make it a Marines version.

Now it's too late.

It's always sad to hear that a company is dying.

No matter where you go ....... there you are.

I don't quite know if this is good news or bad news, Chief. I'm hoping that the recent rally of support and surge of orders has a positive impact on business operations, and shows just how valued Cobra Company is to the aftermarket modelers.

Cobra Company no longer accepting orders

The online ordering system will be deactivated ASAP. We will be trying to figure out who can get what and settling the debts and from there if it's possible to continue business. Sorry folks, time to do it.
