Below is a fun build I just finished over the weekend. It is a 1/72 USCG HH-3F Pelican. The kit is an old Aurora HH-3 Jolly Green Giant, with Hawkeye decals and modification parts (nose radome). This was a much more enjoyable build then my recent HU-25 Guardian over in the Aircraft forum. (/forums/851738/ShowPost.aspx)
The kit went together very well, minimal seam clean up. Only fit problem was the front cockpit windows were a bit short. And even though not to scale, I built the landing gear as intended in the kit, movable and retractable, for a little bit of nostalgia. I still need to add the flotation bags on the sponsons, as the Jolly Green didn't come with them.
Other then the aforementioned windows, the only other downsides to the kit are minimal to no panel detail (fuselage smooth as a baby's ) and the plastic was very brittle. I attempted to put a little bit of sag in the rotor blades, but had two snap, so gave it up. I didn't try hot water, was a little leery of what may happen.
Good kit, Fun build!
