Thanks to all that replied. I got really positive feedback on this (on other forums as well) in general. To those that don't think that this much glass should be showing after a bombing raid I suggest simply leaving it out (it is optional) or snipping some of it so there is not so much. Clip up the scraps w/a pair of sissors & leave the shards laying in the rubble. They pick up light nicely & look pretty good.!

 IMO this glass looks even better in person. It is a delicate little detail that really adds a lot to the scene.

Depends what type of glass you are trying to replicate. Modern safety glass can absorb the impact and shockwave of a bullet. Plexiglass (perspex) sometimes cracks or shatters and sometimes just takes a hole.

But window glass is pretty darn fragile stuff and generally shatters into small fragments or larger jagged sheets, depending on its thickness & chemistry.

I agree however, that a building with that much damage probably wouldn't have much glass left at all.

Don't know much about concussion and blast-damage, do ya... That or yer just bein' silly, ya 8-ball...   Aside from the obvious damage to the back of this building, even if they miss, bombs and shells dropping close enough to shatter windows but far enough away to otherwise leave a building unscathed is pretty common, Smeagol... I'm pretty sure you've been in a thunderstorm that had a few window-rattlers... Principle's the same... The shockwave of compressed air caused the windows to shatter, not fragments or flying debris.  Or bullets... 

The back collapsed, a part of the front survived. Sheesh! :  ).

When I did when I made broken glass for my last project.  I figured where I wanted the glass to have been hit (by bullets.  From there I put a bullet hole with a pin vice, then cut out crack lines from there, if more then one crack line hit, I would cut out that section.
