Well, if they sang it like that, then you are right to use it as title. I now understand the " hatt' ", the "e" is replaced by a ' and is silent because of the singing.

I still don't understand the einen, but maybe that's because my german is a bit rusty, all that eine, einen, einem and du die das der.....it's difficult.

I really like what you have done with this.  Very impressive.  I only have one questions - the first three graves - the 'older' ones - look kinda small-ish to me.  As if the hole would have been big enough only for a child's body, unless they were buried flexed, but I did not think the Germans did this.

Glad you like it Borg. To adress your nitpick,: The title is from the first line of the poem/song "Der Gute Kamerad" which was a traditional song in german military funerals. :

Ich hatt' einen Kameraden,

I mixed up more dirt and spread it on top and around the graves.When its dry I will go over it with some pigments:)

Intresting dio, with a very nice figure.

The only nitpick that I have is the title, I think it should be " ich hatte kameraden". And no "einen" because then it would say "I had one comrads"

Interesting subject.  Other than the points already made about the dirt, I think it is great.  The grave markers are very nicely done.

I agree--beautiful work, but it needs just a little more dirt on top of the graves, I think--and also, that dirt would probably be on the sides of the graves as well, like where they would have dug the dirt out and put it there on the sides before filling it in. You might want to show that as well with a little dirt on the sides. It might look a litttle too clean now with that pure green grass.

The flowers are beautifully done--how did you make them?

By the way, I also like graveyards--here's one I did a few years ago. The tombstones are Verlinden, if I remember correctly?

Yikes. I just now spotted the stalhelm with the shranel hole through the front.. Betcha THAT guy got a "closed casket" (figuratively speaking)..

Nice touch also on the grave marker wth the "Order of the Frozen Meat" ribbon (Iron Cross, 2nd Class)... Practically a unit badge for the Ost Front troops..

Really, that's  just awsome!!!  What did you make to make that circle plant thingy I don't know the name for in english?

And how did you make the hole in the helmet? I suppose that's a fragment damage since it's not round?  And is the decal there a decal or painted on?

And how did you make that iron cross band? And you sure it's the correct length?
