WIP "The enemy tanks are over there"

Here's my newest project, a mini dio of Dragon's Jagdpanther with Tamiya Kubel, and
Warrior's figs in the Kubel.

Oh, wow...this is gonna be good...I see the Alpine figgie on top of the Jagdpanther--I've painted him twice...

Would it be more effective for your story to have the Kubel coming from the oppposite direction, as if they just reconed the front and sped back to tell the tanker-dude the news? Of course you would have to reposition his head and move the Kubel to the other side so the figs in the Kubel would still work.....

I'll be watching this one, El-Tee... Concurr with Manny too... It'd look better with the KW as he suggested...

You guys are good, great idea...i think it would work for the two in front but not sure how i
would change the guy in the back?? The front passanger guy i changed his arm to hold the MG,
but now i'm wondering if i should give him a map instead?, or a MP40?

A map would make more sense... As for the guy in back, you might consider using his upper torso and finding a better lower one in order to make him sit better...  You also may have to twist him a bit...

Hmmmmmm...after second thought, I suppose if it were me I'd probably NOT do as I suggested as after a second look the guy in the back is gonna be totally wrong in his psoition and since he is the focal point of the dio you might ruin a good figgie...However, to suggest the VW just got back from the front, maybe turn the wheels sharply to the right as if they circled back around to pull abreast of the tank...also, I'd put the MG gunner's head in more of a relaxed pose looking ahead...don't think that everyone has to be straining to look up at the bad-*** on the roof...he's peering out to the front where they just came from...I have always like that warriors VW figgie set but haven't gotten one yet...

Ok that i can do, i can cut off the wheels and reglue'em at more of an angle. True about that
passenger's head, since i took this pic i have his head now looking up at the PZ commander.

Let me post a pic of this, and see if its too much with all of them looking up like you mentioned.
If so i can try and change his head again. I hope my PZ commander figgie turns out 1/2 as good as your two Manstein.

...sounds good...I'd also NOT have both vehicles parallel w/ each other perfectly...have them more in a upside-down V...in other words, the rear-ends of each closer together than the front-ends...

I'f I were you, I'd make tracks from the kubel, as if it pulled a U turn inorder to be in the same direction as the tank, but make it have pulled to far, so the back is closer to the tank then the front of it and therefor not parallel

In the middle of painting it now.

Ok here's is that guy again in the passenger seat, i turned his head more towards the tank, but i'm not so sure here, what do you guys think if i have him looking down at a map??

Lufttiger,

Great job-looking good!  Just a thought, I know you are already well into this, but it would add more of a dramatic feel if the Kubelwagen and the Jagdpanther were facing opposite directions.  Kinda like the Kubel crew just stirred up some trouble and are trying to get their bigger, more well-armored, heavier-gunned brother into the fight.  Just a thought...take it or leave it.  Nonetheless, very nice work! Smile [:)] Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Hmm.. I don't know, I think the figures are good together, I like how they all work towards the same direction, it’s like the kubelwagen stirred up trouble, but if Lufttiger makes the tire tracks flip around like they saw the tank, I like that they turned around, because it’s like they’re not running away, they’re willing to follow the Jagdpanther into battle so that they can see the result of their recon, maybe snap off a picture with the tank crew. I think it could be taken like the Kubelwagen crew already know the Jagdpather will blow away the enemy, which either speaks to the Jagdpather’s crew’s ability or the vehicle itself, if not both. Sorry just me reading way too much into a dio lol

Many thanks there guys on the feedback. It's a bit tuff of a layout as i'm using a pretty small base. I think i have to stay with the direction of the Kubel, otherwise the guy in the back will be pointing in the wrong direction.

Yeah it does. If your groundwork and Kublewagon look this good with this kind of attention to detail- you're going to have quite the show stopper!

Lufttiger

I just went back through this and took another look at all your pics.  You really are doing a nice job with this.  I'll echo the sentiments that this is looking like a show stopper!

Great looking dio! the vehicles both look super and so do the figures.

One question how did you paint the gray lines on the tankers pants? I've bean trying to paint that kind of camo but I always mess up the little lines.
