I seldom use display plates because they are expensive. I can get them custom-made for me not far from where I live, in a small shop which does plate engraving in plastic or metal and also works on keys, locks and stuff like that. They calculate the price basing on the surface of the plate plus the number of characters to engrave. So a nice brass plate with say 30 characters on it would cost 20-30$. So I do it only when I need something special.

Happy modelling and have a nice day

Pawel

I can get a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch self adhessive brass plate with engraving for under $5.00 US at Dinn Brothers. Any trophy supplier in the phone book should be able to come close to that. The price quoted below is absurd...you can get a whole trophy plaque for about $10 including engraving.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

They're nice, but I like using my printer and sheet styrene... OR, if I'm feeling saucy, sheet styrene and dry-transfers... You can get quite a few nice scripts in several colors at Hobby Lobby or just about any arts & crafts store..  The dry transfers also work on brass...

I used to go to the local trophy company but they closed down; they cost me $14/each.  Now I go to a local souvenir shop that does engraving and they are the best company I've ever dealt with; customer service is top-notch and they only charge about $5/each up to 2" x 2" square inches.
