After building the first one of these kits (No. 35247; sans horses), I thought I'd better get another one for the stash (you never know when a diorama may need a field kitchen), the only one in stock at my LHS was the one with horses (No. 103). However, a quick check of the Tamiya (online) catalogue lists only the kit without horses. So I think you are right there Doog, but examples of either kit will still be floating around, if you have preference for one over the other.

I built it, back when I was a modeler the first time around, when I was a kid.  I still have it, but it needs repair/restore work.  I agree with the other posters like Doog, it's a nice kit, and a great kernel around which to build a diorama.

The kit always reminded me of "The Longest Day", and Gerd Froebe in his role as "Feldwebel Kaffekanne" (Sergeant Coffee Pot), who lugged rations up to the gun crews on the shore.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

This is a great kit, as previously mentioned, "just falls together'

It lends itself to being a great centerpiece of a diorama (or even an aside), and with the range of availble resin accessories (food and supplies), dresses up quite nicely as well.

Highly recomended

Has amyone built this kit from Tamiya. I am a 83 year old veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam, and like to build dioramas, especially small ones that don't tax me too much. I have benn modeling for over 40 years and really like the new kits they are coming out with.
