need help with wooden door weathering/bullet holes

 Alright Camo, here's what you do;

           Find yourself a board, take it out back, then........shoot it! and copy!!!

  I'll go out back and get a couple pics for you, be back in a few!!!

 Alright, here you go,

 The big holes are 50cal, and the tiny ones are 22

 front

front/ the 2 to the left are 20ga, shotgun slug/ 50cal to the right

backside

HELL YEAH.... no argument there!  There's a saying... "A picture is worth a thousand words".  In this case, it is worth a million words!   Only thing I am disappointed that Fermis didn't ask me to come up and help him with the experiment... I think I am only 3-4 hours drive away!

I've always done it by drilling a bullet hole into one side then, using the tip of my knife, kinda carve/slice away small pieces of the surrounding material (I almost always use basswood though).  Remember to keep the exit holes with "splintered wood"  running up & down with the grain of the door...  Practice on some scrap material until you get what you want unless you don't mind building several more doors, lol..

fermis, grenade launcher...bahhh, that's petty, if your going to do it then  do it with 6000 rounds per minute....ya know...do it with style!!!! (gatling gun...for all the sleepy people out there).

 No, not a kit, I do believe they have them in kit form though. Mine is right off the shelf, ready to go. Not a spectacular piece, but for $200, you really can't beat it. It has the sinthetic stock(black plastic), I prefer a hunting gun to have a wood stock, much prettier. Maybe one of these years I'll do some carving and make my own.
