hmmmm....that's the v.a. for you. you can argue your point but all they're going to do is run you through the tape until your exhausted and give up!!! my brother in law works for them and if he had any special connections i'd send them your way bud. one i can see but both has to be intollerable...hope modeling at least takes the mind off of it...even if it's temporary! get better or whatever ya have to do. hopefully things will work out one way or another. what's the cause of yours hans...too much p.t. in the old days?

It's all connected to injuries stemming from a helicopter crash, followed by too many years of ruck marches and rough PLFs, yeah...  It took 20 years, but the circulation eventually got so bad that the ball on the end of each thigh died, then caved in... About 6 months apart.  Both ball-joints look like a coconut with top smashed in...

It took me 2 years of fighting with the VA to get it acknowleged as service-connected and even then I only got the right one covered... They aren't gonna do the left one since I can still put my weight on it, even though it hurts like hell to do so... Tri-Care will cover about 60% of the left replacement though...  That is, if it just gets resurfaced rather than replaced.

Oh man!  Hope you will have the surgery soon... two friends of mine underwent hip replacements surgeries and they are playing golf better than ever.  It is good to have you back... next time rent an apartment in the bunker instead of third floor.

Lol... Couple of weeks, eh?  Heh... Maybe the drugs are better than I thought, lol...

where ya been hans? sick? hurt?

Well, guess you could say hurt...  I need a couple hip-joints replaced and that's why the heavy pain meds.. I've had what amounts to two broken hips for a couple years now.. (That's why I'm in the chair)  My surgeries keep getting pushed back for one reason or another, twice due to illness, once because the surgeon died...  As of right now, it looks like another year in the chair before I can get into the VA and get fixed... The meds are a big help, but I still have a helluva time since I live on the third floor (with no elevator) so I gotta crutch it up & down...

Knife point; pin; awl.  Whatever.  A 1/35th scale bullet hole is not going to be very big.

Yes sir, one shot, that's it!!! No backups. Yeah, it's a "cheater" black powder, In-line, shotgun primer, powder pellets, and conical slug. I've been looking for an "old school" flintlock, but my "career", or lack there of, won't allow for the expence.   BOOOOOO!!!   Plus, I do like knowing that when I squeeze the trigger, there WILL be a cloud and a slug down range.

Wow, buddy ...nice buck! One shot-one kill huh? I guess you carry a pistol back-up, right?(not that I think you might even slightly miss)Dead [xx(]   That piece does'nt look like I had imagined at all, but then , it DOES look like a hunting rifle. High-tech blackpowder huh? Maybe trade it in for the 'ole Brown-Bess????Big Smile [:D]

No, not a kit, I do believe they have them in kit form though. Mine is right off the shelf, ready to go. Not a spectacular piece, but for $200, you really can't beat it. It has the sinthetic stock(black plastic), I prefer a hunting gun to have a wood stock, much prettier. Maybe one of these years I'll do some carving and make my own.

Here's a pic of it, along with last years "BIG BOY"

Yeah, I recognized "CVA" from  my late-childhood. Ages 11 -12 I built two of thier cool bowie knife kits. One was a classic, big heavy straight "Texas-Toothpick" style, the other was more of a "mini-scimitar"-bowie-style.They came with a block of wood, a couple blocks of brass, a roughed-out blade with a threaded end with a brass lug on its end. Was up to you to shape it, and sharpen it, and polish it. CVA makes blackpowder rifle & musket kits too. Hey Fermis...is that .50 a kit gun?

Ya know, I've been asking for a grenade launcher and flame thrower for Christmas since I was a kid. It still is yet to happen, so I guess you're on your own for that one.

I wish, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wish I could help.....sorry
