Tips for making 6-12" deep water in 1/35
Posted by Konigwolf13 on Saturday, March 6, 2010 11:55 PM

As the topic says. I'm making a base (road) for a 1/35 model and I'm thinking about adding some water over the road. Any tips or good sites, mostley on what to use for clear water would be great.

Polyester resin is one answer.  Many craft stores sell it. It is used for decopage, and for casting paperweights. It is a two part thing, like epoxy, but cheaper and clearer.

My main modeler uses clear resin, I'm not sure it's epoxy resin or polyester resin, but it's a two part thing. It can be used on road or off road. It can be bought at hardware stores. Sample pics of its use:

A tried and true method indeed! Smelly and a little messy probably the best choice for and significant area of water. For small puddles, I would use  Vallejo Still  Water

I  used it to fill the bottom of a 1/35 scale fountain and bucket--very easy to use.

Buy it where you buy your Vallejo paints.
