FIGGIES!

Ok so moving along now.  I was able to get some figgies on the bench.

Im using some of the figs from the s.IG.33 kit and I am throwing in these bad boys as well:

First, some kit figgies:

I didnt like the facial expressions, or lack there of so Hornet heads are in order.  My first time using these:

Three figs primed:

I then realized after a test fit that the helmets dont fit......AT ALL!.  So some modification was in order witht he dremel, i gutted the puppy:

Helmet fit after mod:

More to come

I'm asking this because I haven't ever used an aftermarket head before and don't know.  But wouldn't it have been easier to cut the head down to fit the helmet than to so painstakingly hollow out the helmet? You really did a first class job on the helmet, by the way. I just wouldn't trust myself not to screw that up.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Sub - nothing pianstaking about it, 1 minute with the dremel and it was done.  The frankenstien heads the kit came with are flat heads and dont look realistic at all.  The effort will pay off in the end  :)

Some cut them flat some dont.

A little more progress has been made.  I had to wait for some Vellejo paints to be deliverd from Sprue Bros before I continued.  Her are some shots.

Modified the existing figs for the Hornet heads:

Heads are sort of done, Have some more work on these:

got some base coat down and I will be working on highlights and shadows next:

I keep laughing at this one, reminds me of the Capt. Morgan rum commercials:

Thats what I have so far, more to come later.
