The uniforms are too clean, the boots are too shiny, and the soles of the boots show no wear.  It looks like they just came off of the parade field.

Ditto  And what type of ground is it, is it rock ?  or mud ?  its grey in colour, never seen earth that colour.  Seems to have some sort of ground cover growing on it.  It would be nice to see a bit of the ground colour carried on to the soldiers boots.  Never seen a  Soviet helmet like that either, looks French ?

Could be wrong but that French looking helmet is a Russian 1936 version whilst the others are 1940 types.  Another variant that could be worn is the Russian version of the Adrian helmet still worn in 1940.  As a point of interest the Russians also wore the British pattern helmets in some capacity.Confused

Come on now, guys--you guys really ARE "nit-picking"!

My major complaint is that Phaisal posted TWENTY photos when three or four could have easily shown this diorama quite adequately! The dial-up internet guys won't even try to load this post!
