Overall, I like it. Did the camera flash give the glossy appearance to the tree trunks?

gonavycv64 :

I like the appearance of the paint coverage on your build, reminding me of the old white lead paint used on  houses of the Victorian era.

I also like the paint shading on the front door.

The whole diorama's effect is such that I wouldn't be surprised to see the Addams Family House next door...........Surprise

I enjoyed viewing your build and thank you for sharing your photos with us !Big Smile

Awesome job for a first time. The whole presentation is beautifully done--but please, get a decent background for the photos. All that junk and clutter behind it really detracts from the overall shot.  Wink

Thanks BaBill.  I really enjoyed doing this one.  I'd never built anything that didn't come with the kit, so carving out a hill and using plaster of paris strips to make a hill was cool.

That's pretty cool Navy,,,,  I like the concept....  and you did a nice job on it too.

The only thing,,, it is not really a diorama per se....   A diorama tells a story...   it is more of a static scene. Still done well and I like it!

Enjoy the ride!

I chose to not make the yard quite so run down or the house.  Norman Bates had a slow spiral downwards for years and I picked about the middle of his breakdown so that things are starting to fall apart.

The walkway is made from paster of paris and is painted grey along with the stairwell.  The house is painted with a dirty white.  The roof tiles are red/brown with the iron gates on top painted black with a dry brush of rust.  This model was weird in a sense that I wasn't trying to get a real good paint job.  This was my first diorama and I didn't have any of the stuff to make it so I spent about 2-3 times as much for the stuff than I did for the model.
