A Picture for the Paper...

My attempt at making a diorama...

This diorama depicts Russian Infantry posing for a picture after the battle at the Korsun-Cherkassy (Shevchenkovskiy) Pocket in 1944. The figures are wearing a variety of captured German uniforms as well as their standard dress. The figures wear many different shades of uniforms, this is because in WWII, there was almost no quality control over the color of the fatigues. Factories printed uniforms with whatever colors they had, actual Russian uniforms range from light browns, to khakis, and to olive greens.

Made from Master Box's "Photo for the Newspaper" kit, total build and paint time was about 15 hours.

Nice work, really like the expression on the kneeling rifleman's face.  Excellent depiction of a snowy field.  Keep'em coming!

Thank you everyone for the nice comments, this is one of my first historical dioramas and I am glad it came out well.

Here are some larger pictures on MB's website:

If I get time, I will build a diorama with these two set in the Vietnam War.

Thank you mitsdude. I am not sure of the exact ratio, but I used Woodland Senics Snow + Water (very little)+ Elmer's Glue + Gamesworkshop Liquid Water Effect.
