Last Dance
Posted by Mac Fixx on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 1:12 PM

Finished this one last year.

The goal was for the way the boat is rocking and nets swaying for the whole thing to look like it's dancing and obviously, based on the condition of the boat, likely its last.

The nets are that tan sticky, stretchy first aid wrap/tape over tinfoil.

On the lighter side - My secret to Lindberg kits?  Put them in the oven set at the lowest temperature. Bake for 10 minutes. This'll solve most warpage and alignment problems.

Great idea for the nets. No sure I'd ever come up with that.

Love it!  Lindberg kits vary a lot on quality but I think that kit is one of their better ones.  I finished mine about a year ago and would definitely recommend it to a ship enthusiast.

I found good net material in a JoAnns fabric store.

Oh WOW!!!

Love 'Suzanne' but the water effect there- that's just amazing! You knocked it clear outta the park!!!

Now I wanna try something like that for a 'Jaws' diorama with the 'Orca' and big Bruce the shark!!!

Excellent water effects. What did you use; resin or acrylic gel medium?
