Ohhhh.... i see what you're saying. That's just where the mud was pushed forward by the wing. It's not splashing, although it does kinda look like it is


btw... anybody notice the pilot's muddy footsteps? :)

Brandon: go to the first page, and check out the 4th picture. If you notice, where the wing is, theres a huge splash of mud flying in the air. Now, im guessing that it would take atleast 35 seconds from the time the plane stops moving, for the guy to get out, and walk on over, the splash of mud probaly only takes about 2 seconds for it to go into the air, and come back down, but in the model, its still up there.

Now do you know what im saying? lol. but the model looks absaloutly amazing, and so does the mud and everything, i was just pointing that out.

I just got a new book the other day that has several pictures of German aircraft that have made crash landings, these pictures would be of interest to you and give you more information on the sort of damage a Bf 109 or Fw 190 would sustain in a belly landing.
The title of the book is ''Bodenplatte, The Luftwaffe's Last Hope'' and for anybody doing, or thinking of doing a diorama that has an aircraft in it that made a forced landing this book would be VERY useful.

If anything, as others have mentioned, I think that 109 should be sunk in much deeper into the groundwork. Might be a little difficult to do now that the work is done, but keep it in mind next time. Also, your landing gear is intact, and generally speaking, I'm fairly certain that in a crash, the lowered landing gear is the first thing to go, and is usually found a fair distance from the main crash site.

Nice diorama, but just a word of criticism:

Isn't the glade air freshener out of scale???????

And is it historically accurate????

I had built model aircraft for years and then i decided to try a dio. My Advanced 3D art teacher let me go for it... and about the landing gear... the right strut is extended but the left one is folded under the wing so you can't really see it. The rod goes from the bottom of the base to the underside of the p-51.
