Posted by duckman on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 10:49 PM
i read a post here saying kitty little works as a good tarmac so i decided that would be pretty sweet top do so i just did it and i was awful the saran wrap ripped off the glue and littler in most places and the glue cannot be evenly spread out when theres nothing to hold on too so in conclusion :does anybody know any ways to do this good over a very, very large area

duckman,

Do you remember which thread the advice was in? I would also like to review it. Maybe someone that reads this will be able to help us with where it is.

Hey there duckman..... I just completed my first diorama. It is An a-10 on a tarmac in Kuwait. Unfortunately, I don' t have pics yet....hopefully soon. It is 1/48 scale, so it is pretty big.......I used celluclay (drywall filler) watered down pretty thin...I made a mistake and it was mixed too thin, but I poured it over my base and "carved" ashphalt lines into it with a piece of sprue. I then used white glue to cover the lines (like tar repair). I used a feather to paint on cracks. I painted the whole thing using different shades to get weathered appearance. I will post pics soon I hope. I hope this helps!!
