The finish on the model demonstrates ridiculously good looking texture. That's it, I've had enough of your abundance of talent, and the amazing dios popping up every week Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Sooo-Poib Russ! Even better in pics, a real sense of the drama and intensity of the scene. Last shot's the best, hmmm something right out of SPR methinks! Outstanding work!

Again thankyou very much for all the comments, just a couple of things to help you should any of you like to give this a shot, building ruins are small pieces of pink foam,
figures and tank are from Tamiya, groundcover consists of various brick colours of brocken up plantpots and plaster sheets, real dirt and wood bits. To get the dark gothic
charred ruin look a heavy black wash was used, drybrushed with white to bring back the frozen look and white sand added for snow. The mud on the tank is made from brown paint, white glue and dried tea grounds.
Have fun!

What can I say, another great dio. Fantastic weathering and groundwork. Looks like Stalingrad.

I think the idea was to represent how the battlefield would have looked like in a wartorn city ruins and how the Russian tank crews responded at the front lines,of course also
demonstrating that the patriotic charge didn`t last long in alot of cases.
Thanks very much for the comments gents, much appreciated, hope this dio inspires you all to have a crack at some Russian stuff,so many possibilities here!

Many thanks guys,I used the salt thing again on this tank,it always seems to work best for me on winter cammo schemes. Thanks AJ,the sprung suspension did cross my mind and would have improved the dramatics greatly but I had some fit problems between the tracks and the front axle and that killed any idea of springing anything. The axle was pulled back after I put the tracks on and left it to dry overnight, too late to pull apart soooo mixed up some mud and applied it to the running gear. The next one will be sprung,I promise.

Very dramatic scene and very good weathering on the tank. Composition and constuction are first rate, too.
Two very related things strike me, though. The tank has a lot of mud for being in an urban setting and it's running over rubble but the suspension look like it's driving down the autobahn. (I know the suspension is not workable like the Tamiya M46, but this is distracting.)

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Great job on the weathering. That winter camo has obviously seen some action. Neat idea too.

great piece sasd. very realistic. nice weathering job on the T-34, it looks very realistic. the fig looks well done also, and the gorundwork is excellent. theres enough rubble for the size of the collapsed building, and enough snow around for it to look like it is winter. very nice

That's an incredibly realistic looking dio. The weathering is fabulous. I hope to attain that skill level some day.
