I used to work for Fort Snelling in Minnesota as a tour guide there, and during the Fur Trader's days many people would come dressed as Fur Traders. Authenticity was required! Therefore, based on what I remember, (although this is more 1827 timeframe) any after market rucksacks and soldier's baggage from the Revolution to the Civil War would work in this case as things fur traders used to carry their goods.
Making the furs would be difficult, but you could use small cloth samples to simulate the 'tarps' that Fur traders used to wrap their furs in inclement weather.
I know it's not much, but I hope it helps somewhat.
