Thanks for all the advice and suggestions in regards to the fire hydrant. I painted it red, washed it, and weathered it. I am not sure if it is accurate, but it looks good, and adds a little color to the diorama.
One more question- Does anyone have any suggestions on a material to use for power lines on telegraph poles. I tried using surgical suture, but it does not appear heavy enough.
