Sealing Decals
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 29, 2006 5:35 PM
If I apply a coat of testors dullcote to a model, will this do the same job that micro-sol does for the decals? Or do I need to apply both?

No.  Micro-Sol softens the decals so they adhere and stick to uneven surfaces better.  Dullcote seals them and makes them more prmanant.  You should always seal them whether you use Micro-Sol or not.

Will dullcote also solve sunlight problems? I placed a model on the windowsill once, and the side facing the sun began to loose its coloring, while the other side kept its original appearance.

It may help some, but sun bleaching will still occur if the model is left in direct sunlight.
