i guess so. i can travell by train for free so Arnhem and other locations in the netherlands are no problem at all:). we also have the army museum in overloon and i will go there in the vacantion i manly build armour and ancient boats(biremes, the batavia)

I'm new here and I live in nijmegen. i can tell, this bridge is huge! but if you want to have some details i can take some pictures. tell me what kind of photo's you want (details, overall photo). i am very often in arnhem so pictures of the bridge in arnhem shouldn't be a problem either.

Ya know, seems to me there's nothing wrong with coming to these forums to brainstorm and brainfart... It's one thing to be able to come and throw up and out one's ideas and see what other people think... that's what the forums are for, right?

The only time I would say "come down on da bum" would be if it were a commit to a group build, where there are definite expectations amongst a group with a shared goal of projects.  I know, because I have failed to put out in two group builds to date, due largely to other "life commitments" that have taken my time... and I am rather ashamed of myself for that.

As for what Tankluver has going - he really wants to put forth some ambitious ideas for sure, but it's not hurting anyone with false expectations is it? 

In the end of course we'd all love to see what you have coming Tankluver, so share all the pretty pictures as they develop???

Something tells me this dio will never come to be.... Again, like everyone has said, do your research!

Come on, 3 + armored vehicles, each taking at least 50 hours to build, plus 25 soldiers about? and a highly complex bridge in 1/35.... Let's think this through, how about a 1/72 dio? costing about $90 total. Now, let's say that same dio in 1/35.... 3 armor kits $100, a crapload of styrene stock $30, figures $40, paint $30. $200 there and that's not including supplies, accessories, diorama bases, time, etc. So, basically over $300 worth of something that may be innacurate, not make sense, and poorly planned.

I'm seriously not trying to discourage you at all. Just, like I said before, trying to open your eyes.

Also, this is the third or fourth dio ideas you've posted here that are on this immense size with the same amount of thought put into each one. If you can't keep one idea at a time, how can you expect to invest MANY hours in one area?

Also, this site is one of the best resources ever for this kind of research.

Tankluver, have you checked your E-mail lately?

theres no way the SS would be using a pz II in Arnhem. The SS was the best supplied with new equipment.  The pz II was quite outdated, even for a command tank. Do some more research, find the units that were there, there unit markings and what aequipment they were using. Dioramas with hug inaccuracies (link a tank with markings from a unit that only served on the east front, in a western front dio) are major turnoff. The dio could be huge and perfectly built, but the simple inaccuracies make it a bad dio. 

Tankluver:

In 1/35 scale even a 1/4 of the Arnhem bridge will be huge. Here is an article to give you an idea of the dimensions. It is in 1/32 scale, however it is only slightly larger than a 1:35 scale would be.

Depending on the scale you intend to build this in it will be huge. The Arnhem Bridge even in 1/72 scale would be a large undertaking. Good Luck. Remember to do your reference before you begin. You may want to pick up a few books from the local hobby shop in the train modeller section to understand construction of the bridge spans.
