So blue blackground is OK and I'll continue using it. Will try to find better one, sky with clouds, things like that. Would love ruined buildings but it's hard to find. BTW, have you seen my Leopold or Morser Karl 1:35 with beautiful mountain backdrop? If you want to edit for fun you may search from my site.

Thanks for your kind words, falcon039 and Fabio!

Hey, no i like the blue backgrounds it brings out the colors really nice so you focus on the subject. I just did the images to show you what it might look like in a real setting. I would stick with using the blue backgrounds. The black ones might tend to blend in with what your shooting also.

ya and i cropped it because i did the images real quick and did not have much to put in the open spaces. The dio looks real nice it was fun to work on editing the pictures with.

You don't like the blue blackground? I think it's natural in case there's nothing at the back of the ruined building. I usually don't crop my pics, always keep them at around 780x510 pixels. Do you think the pics will look better if I use black background instead? Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

I like how the dio's look but i could not get past the blue background so i was bored here are some "quick" versions with a background. The weathering is very nice on the buildings. Nice use of colors

Here is a berfore and after comparison if you would like to look at it.

Many thanks for your kind comments and compliments on the dio, Tony!

Your interpretation is complex but plausible, the tank commander sure is smiling. I have my own interpretation too : The foot soldiers and the tank infantry came from different direction, when the tank infantry saw their comrades coming out of the building they came down from the tank to meet them...

Model maniac:

I think it's a great dio! I especially like the realistic, down-to-earth feeling of the KV tank and the figures.

Regarding the figures and the story of the dio. I have my own interpretation of the what unfolds in the dio. It goes like this:

First you have to imagine a Sovjet propaganda team in the forground, "outside" the diorama. The team wants to take some pictures of the victorius Sovjet army, and tells the accompanying NKVD officer (also outside the dio)  to order some soldiers to line up in front of the tank. When the officer shouts to the tank riders to line up - and this is the dioramas "frozen moment"  - two of them readily obey. The third one, at the back of the tank, is kind of shy and therefor decides to get going in the other direction. The soldiers leaving the ruined building have just rounded the corner and doesn't have a clue what's going on. That's why they look so calm. And, lastly, the tank commander.  Look how he's smiling - he's very proud to getting his picture taken and printed in Pravda! That's atleast what I "see" in the dio - a great, complex story.

I guess you'll have to use a lot of imagination... It's my fault. I didn't consider the compatibilty between the two figure sets - one of which was leftover from earlier work (a dio whose base was broken due to accident and my modeler delivered only the tank). That's the story of this dio. ;-)

Maniac,

I am not sure if I "get" this one. Confused [%-)]  Are the guys jumping off the tank deploying or just hopping off after hitching a ride?  What is the driver doing?  If the guys from the tank are deploying into an attack, what are the guys on the ground doing?  I see one has his weapon slung, which implies there is not a threat, but the guys jumping off the tank appear to be moving with a sense of "urgency".  Don't get me wrong, I like the build and think the dio looks good, I am just trying to figure out what the "story" is.

Keep posting these pics, I love to see them. Big Smile [:D]

Love KV's and that one is well done. I like the subtle weathering. Figs look good too.
