Storage!

I'm lucky that everybody in the house understand me. Starting from my mother who's the owner of the house, my youngest brother, his wife and three sons who live in the same house. They all knew my need for more storage space and let me construct a 4x6 m showroom : http://www.falconbbs.com/model18j.htm  late last year at the back of the house - the only space left - to keep my ever-expanding collection of models and dioramas. Even with that, I think I'll have storage space problem in just a year or two now that my main modeler had quitted his other job. Now he's making models full time, for me alone. Waking up at 6 and working through late evening everyday, he can churn out 5-6 pieces in two weeks' time and that's over 120 pieces a year... Before long, I'll face the same problem you guys are facing - storage space. :-(

lol ya wow that is a great collection. For me right now i need to have a base for each model i complete. It feels naked unless its sitting in it's own spot lol. Of course alot of times the base takes longer to do then the model lol.

Well, it's good as long as I have the space to keep them. But I'm worried about the future, just a few years from now...

I sell everything I build-

A lot are done on comission or I Ebay the rest. I get anywhere from $150.00 (for single vehicle, etc.) to $600.00 for dios, etc. No where near what I have in them (Not even at $0.05 per hr.) but it keeps the shelves empty for more kits and also helps pay for those kits.

There are a ton of collectors out there who would love to buy your built stuff- I bet you would be surprised- I know I was. And after selling a few the comission requests come in. Start at 5X kit value for basic builds - 10X for lots of aftermarket, etc. Take lots of pics and lots of correcspondence is mandatory- Comission is OK- make sure you WANT TO build that kit- building something you dont like makes modeling work- and we all have enough of that-

That's a good idea. I'll keep that in mind. When there's no more space to keep them all, maybe it's time to start selling some of them out... and E-bay is sure a good choice.

Actually I'm quite familiar with Bangkok, and with some of the islands in the Andaman region off the coast of Phang Nga, down south. Very big fan of the Koh Phrah Thong / Koh Samui area. In my opinion, the most beautiful place in the world.
