I don't think its a problem, one guy simply more careful than the others, or is scanning the forest for threats. There could be a number of reasons other than an identified target. Good Dio though, just my 2cents.

Now to the suggestions:
Agree with the previous posts on the snow.
With some fantasy you could imagine that the kneeling soldier is aiming at some deer or boar (think I saw that on Band of Brothers, too) for the dinner.
The figure painter in me asks for more contrast in the painting of the figures (mainly on the faces): try washing and dry brushing it's a simple technique that adds some depth to the figures.

Bottom line: you made a great job, but there is some room for improvement (hope I haven't been too hard).

Two things.

First, and more importantly is a composition issue. You have one guy in a firing position meaning there's a target out tther who is potentially tagetting the GI's as well. You othen have two guys in the open with no indication they have any concern over being targets.

Secondly, the snow on your signs looks like marshmallow more than even the wettest of snows. This is especially noticeable on the turret in the second picture. That said, the snow on the ground looks very good.
