Still not done with your build?  Man, you are the type of people that editorial from previous month was talking about! j/k Big Smile [:D]  Anyway, this weekend is going to be a beautiful one in New York and I sure am going to airbrush some of my built models outside.  Enjoy the weekend and nice outdoor Greek Cafes in Astoria!

Hi Kenny.Through reading this & other forums I've oft heard about sand or emory paper.I found black 1000 grit is the right look for 1/35th scale. Then use grey weatering powders on the areas that are heavily trafficked areas.Apply it to the paper, trying to be uniformly, then blowing or shaking off the excess. You really don't even need adhesives,it'll stay put [ ever try cleaning a file ? ].I forgot, before that all, paint any traffic lines & let dry completly with a flat color of your choice. When it's all done & mounted [ I think spray adhesive like Hi-Tack gasket adhesive works well ], If you have border sand, grass ,Etc. mount them as you would other ground effect's. Try it,I think you'll find it appealing & accurate.        ~~rudedog~~

Steve Cape May is the very end of NJ. Beautiful place to go especially in the summer. the ferry is rightthere and it takes an hour trip but you can go to maryland from there too. it is a tourist area in the summer but very relaxing you should have a great time.

That dio of Heavy Arty's Bradley should give you an idea on the pavement . I'm sticking a Bradley together right now(with interior ) so his picture is of interest to me also .

I'm leaving now , but i'm keeping an eye on YOU !Big Smile [:D]

This ice storm has also caused my model painting to stall. I cant spray paint in the garage because the cars are stuck in there. Guess I have to start on this Dragon kit with all its details and PE parts. For your road kenny, what type of terrain is around it? That can change the colors you should dry brush with. You can also use different pastels to give you road a dusty worn look.

Same here.  I was supposed to go out to the range and test out my new hunting rifle, but didn't happen.  Instead, I took my sister out to the local Michael's and I ended up buying some more stuff to build dioramas.  I got the plaster stuff today so I should be able to create my own grounwork soon.

Hey Kenny,

How did you do with this snow/ice storm?  I ended up setting up my air brush and compressor last night and I'll be painting some kits all day today.

For my roads, I just use a light grey and some black. The newer you want it, the more black and less grey. If you want it weathered than just the opposite.Try it first though, to me it looks fine but you may not like it. Happy painting!

I paint them flat black first, then do various washes of gray and sand to tone it down.  Lastly, I do a couple drybrushing with grays and sands.
