I guess I was looking at it to deep.  I didn't give it any real thought of the different ages of trees.  I saw different pictures of FW 190's being hidden in the trees from Allied bombing.  I was hoping to put the JU 52/3 is somewhat of a concealment with trees.

What do you mean--a 6' apple tree or a 10' apple tree? A 13 ' conifer or a 7' pine? THere's really no way to satisfactorily give you an answer here!

Given that trees start as saplings and grow to towering examples of many different sizes, heights and varieties, I would think you could portray a tree any ol' size you choose--dontcha think?!?!

1/48 Scale trees???

I'm building a dio of the Fallschirmjäger boarding the JU 52/3 with support around the plane and such.  I want to put a few trees on the dio but don't know how to figure how tall a tree should be in relation to the plane.  A 6" tree?  What if they were apple trees?  How tall would an apple tree be in relation to the 1/48 scale plane?  I will probably use pine or white birch trees, but still don't know how tall they should be.  Any ideas will be much appreciated!
