DIORAMA "Kick the enemy´s butt using his own materiel"

Hello guys, thank You for nice reactions! I started working on that old Dragon Panzer III - it is sufficient for the diorama and is pleasure to build it. The PE parts from Eduard are realy great! There two turrets in the kit, so I will use the spare one for the diorama as well...

I will use most of the figures from those four sets - except of those with ammunition and the gun barell cleaning trio... They look realy very realistic and their faces are better than Master Box, Trumpeter or Dragon GEN 1 or other ones!

P.S. I think about adding second vehicle - Jeep Willys !!!

In the mid 1942 (where I´m setting the dio), only GAZ 64 was used, no one makes this kit. GAZ 67 was introduced later......

The hull is ready, I will let the fenders without tools as we can see on the pictures.

Starts to look like Panzer III !!!

The build of Pz III is finished, now I relax from it before painting and weathering, so I´ve started trying the figures positions for the dio. I wanted to have two of them on the tank, this is the final position which i like the most and first of all it fits to the future overall diorama composition.

And I make models of models for the technical breefing of the crew.....

I continue with various figure positioning, this is the final version so far.....

I made first "model of a model" which the Russian tank crew will be learning about at my diorama. It is Panzer III and I will add another types soon....

You are right with the process Mr.MR - first of all I conunted the measures of the tank (x mm / 35 = y and then y / 20) to get 1:20 scale used in 1:35 dimension and then reduced it on the photocopier. After that i cut it from the paper and glued on the soft modelling wood (we call it "balsa"). P.S. Sorry for that green coat, burt when I saw it for thr first time I knew I have to build it.....

Great work thus far. You can really see the level of thought and effort going into this.

I´ve made another "teaching funnies" for the Soviet tank crew of Pz III: Two instruction boards showing and describing weak points of "Tank III" and "Tank IV". I found this interesting drawings at an old soviet A4 sized manual from 1942 and I thought why not to resize it in a board size....For demostration it is hanged on the gun barel, but later it will be placed in the diorama on the wall.

Freaking son-of-a-gun! That is so cool and crazy. I'm loving this even though the Pz III will in Russian markings. Boo hoo.

The russian marking that most of you don´t like seems to be realy viscious - problems with green colour and also with white numbers and symbol on he side of the turret :-( grrrrrr......shouldn´t the german tank realy be panzergrau......hmmmm have to try it again and make a lots of repairs on that.....

...it might look better if you based-coated the tank with panzer-grey and then oversprayed with Russian green (leaving some grey showing thru in some areas, particularly around the running gear)...but that, of course, is just my opinion...nice work... 

i think this project will turn to a great dio! i see a lot of little details, and i'm already starting to get a mental image of the final dio. i really liked the idea of the captured Panzers. i think i should try it at the future =)

and it was a great touch that little tank, it made me laugh a little, such a great idea, those little details make a dio look more unique.
Keep going! i'm sure you'll manage to correct that problem
