This is a great diorama. The only thing that doesn't really fit is the Kublewagen. If a flak crew is about to open up and try to shoot down an airplane wouldn't you want to try and drive away. Or at least get on that Mg and protect yourself.

Well that, and the fact the guy is pointing at the horizon and the gun is 20 degrees above the horizon. And the officer looks like he's doing an inspection. And the Kubelwagen passenger is holding the MP 40 at a really awkward angle. And the dust pattern on the Kubel's windscreen doesn't match the wipers.

MOTS.

Well, Gino, you know, those could be the antenna/receiver array for the ultra secret Doppleganger Radar and Gunnery Orders Network (DRaGON) targetting system. The guy pointing is a decoy so the pilot won't suspect he's being painted by the radar.

Anything's possible, after all.

Definitely not one of the better ones. I'm trying to figure out where the borders of the base are? It reminds me of one of those "Twilight Zone" episodes, where they're just "out in the cornfield"!

The Kubelwagen guys are looking straight forward like they're frozen...the wall section is out of place--where's the rest of the rubble? And why is the bottom of it "floating" over the sand a bit?

Bad composition and lack of thought sink this one for me...plus those sinkholes that Arty pointed out are strictly amateur stuff.

While the children in the forum provide The Romper Room Advice, what is missed is the fact that the weathering on the flak gun is spectacular!  Sure the kubel is out of place, that's a simple fix (just remove it), the base is a little big, and the commander is IMO just an extra that can be removed.  I think it would be sweet to display just the flak wagon as a stand alone.

It's funny how you guys post stuff in other threads about being a "postive" person in the forum, yet this thread degenerates into a MM bash (yet again).  If you don't like something then don't post!  Simple!

Hmmm....you're right, IYAYAYAS; there's a lot of negativity in there....

Personally, I don't see this as becoming a "MM bash"; I made a valid critique of why this dio in particular didn't "work"....Geez, dude; DON'T BE SO NEGATIVE!!!

Iyaayas,

Before you work on weathering, you have to get the basics right. And the basicsaren't there. This was not presented as a single piece of armor, it's a diorama. The first criterion of a diorama is the story. As a single piece, it's mundane at best with rather glaring flaws. As a diorama, it's very disjointed and unfocussed. I wouldn't even equate it with piecework quality. The St Petersburg group does piece woork and produces pieces of collectible art.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

IYAAYAS, lets be completely honest here, OK? I think I've shown myself to be a pretty reasonable person, and you and I both know that this veiled allusion was toward me, and it tells me that you're still smarting from a series if loooong PM's between you and I, the content of which need not be aired here; however, YOU seemed to be crouched like a coiled spring on this one, ready to strike, and lashed out when--if you re-read my post--I made a valid critique. OK?

I have not hesitated to apologize on this site when I've been wrong, but I'm not gonna let YOU define me incorrectly.

In any case, the "not everything is about you" comment is revealing on another level, but I'm not gonna get into it...

the story...

an officer has arrived to do a "snap" inspection, the gunner is swinging the gun around and lowering the barrel to the spotter's mark. The officer's driver and aide have stayed in the Klubwagen so when he is finished they can race off to the next unit and see how fast they can engage the enemy...

pin marks...I got nothing for that, on the other hand I have not taken pictures of my stuff so there would be no way for me to comment other than I hope my weathering will look that good one day
