small Bocage dio
Posted by Feeder on Saturday, December 29, 2007 12:40 PM

Hi all,

this dio is supposed to depict the result of a Fallschirmjager scout group in the front lines of the Bocage. The Crusader (which has the markings of a Royal Artillery scout group) has been knocked out previously and the paras are deciding where to relocate for any further incursions.

I'm quite pleased with how the scenery turned out as it didnt take me that long to do. It's a scale i will return to i think, as it's alot less demanding to make a dio with lots of senic detail in a short amount of time compared to 1:35.

Sorry for the poor photographs! my camera isn't so good at getting shots with 1:72!

When i took the pics there was still a bit to do (you may notice the figures stuck in position with blue tac). Any things I could improve in it? Also, can anyone reccommend a UK brand of adhesive which sticks figures in soft plastic together effectivly? As I had to do a fair bit of chopping and changing with one of the figures (both being originally being the same old 1:72 Revell figure) and it was difficult to get anything to hold it together properly.

Regards,

Seb

Nice work and the hedges and groundwork look pretty good from what the pictures show. Have you tried using superglue? I modify lots of 1/72 soft plastic figures and so far just a real sharp blade and super glue are the best tools. Also squadron green works well for me when I need to sculpt and fill joints and parts.

Nice work Cam; use superglue gel to put down your 1/72 figures; I use it all the time. Take a look at my "Italeri's Midieval Tournament" dio thread in this forum---I used the same superglue gel to fix all those figures.

Seb,

From whatever I can see from the photo, it looks good.
