There are a couple in the house.  Only problem is I'd have to ruin my 3 year old daughter's necklace from Hawaii to get them.  ;)  Can't do something like that.  LOL

Thank you all for the compliments.  This was a refreshing project and made the Chevy build a complete project.

If he had a chick it wouldn't be realistic as the fellow couldn't afford the car or have time to lay in the hammock!Shock [:O] Sign - Oops [#oops] Did I say that? I really like the scene. Well done and looks like it could be right down the street from me. The model is pretty cool with a sharp paint job as well!Thumbs Up [tup]

I thought about that, but in the end, I simply wanted to portray the story of a guy getting to the beach early and setting up shop for a little R&R.  Thus I made the shorts and hung them on the back door.  He'll change later.  LOL

very nice.. I'm not a fan of Hotrods, so it all would look better with a Willys Jeep from 1943 instead :)

But yeah, nicely done diorama!

It's done.  My second 1/24 diorama.  Hot rod enthusiast needs a little R&R after a long week.   :D   I think I'll end up building a cooler and other misc. things for the back of the wagon, but for now it's done.  I scratchbuilt the bermuda's hanging on the door and painted the yellow flowers on them to finish it off.

I managed to find a vintage set of "build your own people" on the 'bay and got the surfboard done.  Then I'll need a set of bermuda shorts and a cooler to pull it all off.

Well if you want a scantily clad or nude babe to put in there, check out Jimmy Flintstone PRoductions.  He is the standard for 1:25/1:24 scale babes.

Thank you all for the kind comments guys!  For those asking, the palm trees are courtesy of Pegasus Hobbies.  These are the largest set they sell at 8 1/2" tall (roughly 17 scale feet tall).  I bought mine off of evil-bay, but you could probably get them right from Pegasus as well.

I was going to ask about the trees as well. We have those mexican fan palms down here in Texas. That looks like a scene right off the coast. The realism of the trees are the best I have scene ( seen , get the joke?) and the model is pretty spiffy too!Thumbs Up [tup]

My BRILLIANT WIFE looked at me tonight and said, "Those gauze bandages in the bathroom would work for your hammock wouldn't they?"  The smile and elation on my face told her she was right. I commenced to digging through the bathroom when she arrived to get them for me.  :D    LOVE MY WIFE!

I tore apart the bandage for the webbing and the hammock's done!!!  Now I need my figure to show up in the mail so's I can put him in action tying up the other end.

Thank you for all of the kind comments guys.  I've found a vintage set of people that I'm going to use as my surfer.  I'm also building a hammock, getting some shorts put together, a surfboard and a cooler of sorts.

OH!  For those asking, the trees are from Pegasus Hobbies.  They are the largest set they sell at 8 1/2" tall.  (17 scale feet roughly).

I see you have discovered those cosmetic Q-tips that I love so much. They're awesome. Nice looking scene.

WOw, that's really nice!

You should hit up Manny for some recommendatins for a hot chick in a bikini or something to put in there somewhere! LOL! I'm sure he could help you! Big Smile [:D]

*EDIT*--after looking at it again, I would have positioned the car backwards from what you did here--with the front pointing the opposite way--that way you could have seen into the interior (always a point of curiosity?) and yet still have seen the whole vehicle with ease. And it would have put the figure a bit more into the scene.

The only thing I thought it might be missing is a hammock between the trees with a cooler next to it waiting for the surfer to come back.

You're in the exact place I'm going.  What I'm planning is to have the surfer in action tying up the hammock with his cooler (and possibly) surfboard still in the wagon.  I've got to order up the figure first.
