Very nice build. I'm really quite impressed with the checkerboard pattern you did on the cowling. So many times I'd use the kit markings and then have a fit trying to match the spinner colors to it. The 'pit looks top shelf and the weathering very convincing, but man, all that masking!! Probably why I build mostly WWI.

Thanks guys. Yeah Mike, this turkey took alot of Tamiya tape. This is the third plane I've don't this year with full invasion stripes....yikes!
Holy hannah! Very nice work. I've got a Tamiya B in my not too distant future, though mine will be Don Beerbower's "Bonnie B" from the 353rd.

Thanks guys and your welcome MAgather. On a sidenote, I entered this turkey into the rigged a Cleveland Model Show earlier in the month and it didn't win jack squat. Sore loser you may say? Absolutely!......., especially since all of the model club members tend to run away with most of the awards. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist, but it can't be a coincidence that the model club member who won first place in the "out of the box" catergory didn't even have his instructions with the kit, which is required by the IPMS rules......hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm. End of rant and I feel better now....

I'm still trying to complete one of each major Pacific US plane before moving over to the ETO...but I so want to paint some G@# damn invasion stripes!!! This is a great P-51B and a great story. The story is often how I pick my planes. =]
