                        Thanks once again for your kind words, fellows, you humble me! If you want historical info on the CF-105, I posted a brief history of it on the RCAF group build thread.  As to the pink putty, it is just a trick of the lighting, as I didn't use any puty at all, what little filling I needed to do was CA.

                        Still needing very little filler, just a bit around the bottom of the jet exhausts - I wish all the kits went together this well!  Comments and constructive criticisma are always welcome!

                        Well, there is no secret to it really.  The dials (in this kit) were very crisply molded, so after an overall flat black paint job, I used a very sharp artist's oil pencil (white) to pick out the raised elements then a drop of Future to seal it and give the impression of a glass dial face.  The switches and such I just used a very fine oint brush and regular Testor's bottle enamels.  A good magnifier helps unless you have eagle eyes (not me!)

                        Butz, as MechTech stated, this bird never got beyond prototype stages and almost no reference pics are around, so I am guessing that the standard colors like zinc chromate green work in the wheel wells.  If you have seen the box art, the CF-105 is overall white with arctic red contrasts, a pretty flashy bird!

                        Actually, there never were any units, all five completed were destroyed as well as another five which were partially completed in 1959. 

                        Brian, don't know if you have it or not but a "really good" reference book is "ARROW" put out by Stoddart Publishing Co. Limited of Toronto, Ontario, Canada 1998. It is a  reprint of "The Arrowheads" published in 1980. their email is: gdsinc@genpub.com.

                        Thanks for the kudos, Viper and Mike!  The Hobby Craft kit itself is actually pretty spartan, but so far, the fit has been excellent - no filler needed for the forward or main fuselage!  The North Star company is pretty limited in scope so far, but I really hope they will expand their line

                                              Was lucky enough to have a preview of the brilliant cockpit work, and it sure deserves the praise the boys n girls in here have given it, North Rock might have turned out a little gem in resin, but it takes a real modeller to bring it to life the way you have. It was a joy to see, and an inspiration to keep the brushes going here and try not to let the PE do all the work. Well done indeed Sir. Thumbs Up [tup]
                        The fuselage shots are most excellent too, I can see there will be 'lots' of that lovely pit work still viewable even when it's all closed up. As everyone can see from my Avatar I'm a great fan of the TSR2, our 'way ahead of it's time' aircraft that the numbskull politico's killed off. A fate this wonderful Canadian aircraft met as well. A big beautiful bird, rarely modelled, so following this build is going to be an education as well as a pleasure. Keep up the grand work Brian Make a Toast [#toast]

                        Thank you all for the kind words!  Having seen examples of all your work, I am truly honored!  I can't say enough good things about North Star, this kit is as awesome as it looks.  The CF-105 has clam-shell type hatches instead of a canopy, and I will be installing them in the wide open position;  this gives as much visibility as can be had without cutting out the fuselage.  more progress pics will be coming up in a day or so!  Thank you all once again!

                        I hope you plan on having the canopies open to show off that great detail. With them closed you won't be able to see much of anything...

                        Sadly, the Arrow is one of those aircraft that we can only speculate as to what its legacy would have been , had they allowed the program to continue...

                        I am participating in the RCAF group build, but I wanted to share this with everyone her as well.  As the 1:48 Hobby Craft kit is totally devoid of detail, I decided to use the North Star resin cockpit set.  To say that I am impressed with the quality is an understatement!  It is in a class by itself, way beyond Black Box, Cutting Edge, etc. IMHO.  It was pricey ($60 C) but well worth it.  It is so well done that the compant provides an upper fuselage palte to nake it a stand alone model itself!  Here are a couple of progress pics:
