Magnesium color is slightly darker than aluminum. Aluminum is really not very shiny. If you can find a spray can of aluminum it is best to use that. Mask off the areas you want to be painted magnesium and spray that area black. After it has cured, paint the model aluminum in very light coats. If you do it light enough the black will show through the aluminum paint and give you that little difference in color. You may have to buff the color to get it to show through. Let us know how it turns out.

Finishing a B-36- paint question.

I'm very close to finishing a 1:72 scale B-36, and have a question about color. The real thing was made of magnesium, with pressurised sections skinned in aluminum. Because I don't have a top quality airbrush, and I don't trust my own painting skills, I've deciede (to simulate the magneseum) to overspray the entire thing in one color of silver, then fill in the pressurised sections with Bare-Metal Foil. My question is- what would be the best color to simulate the magnesium? As I said before, I can only use one color, so all the perfectionists out there, be warned!

Also, I'm pretty sure the Peacemaker was made of aluminum and magneseum, but if I'm wrong, bear with me! :)
